The master plan for developing and operating Stonecrest Town Center was prepared as part of Stonecreek LLC affiliate Adventure Studios' potential site acquisition. This lifestyle retail-entertainment facility planned for the Greater Atlanta metro area included substantial themed entertainment elements, including an integrated EASIL show control system for building systems and theatrical staging.
The experiential design effort focused on place making objectives, urban planning and design issues, tenant leasing strategies, and district objectives. The project would be situated adjacent to the Mall at Stonecrest, along the major interstate highway through the eastern region of greater Atlanta.
Stonecrest was proposed for the City of Lithonia in East Dekalb County along Interstate-20, about 18 miles east of downtown Atlanta. The community played a role in the Civil War, with notable service of its native sons, and as an overnight stay for General Sherman, on his famous march to the sea.
